"Long and winding road...
This is a brief unsolicited testimonial about the experience
of dealing with Harwood Enterprises in the circumstances
of buying a car. First, I should say that I am located
in Vancouver, Canada and they are in New York State, USA.
Secondly, I should tell the reader that I had never actually
met Roger or Marc Corea, or Pete Francia and Ryan Beattie
face to face until the car was finished and ready for
delivery and now I consider them trusted friends.
The journey started in November 2006 when I purchased
a 1964 Austin Healey 3000 Mk111 from Marc. We agreed that
some work needed to be done on the car before I took delivery.
One day slipped into another as we agreed to do more and
more to the car. Marc wanted to replace the floor, put
in a new wiring harness and some other items. Pete said
it would be easier to do these things if he pulled the
engine and transmission. I came back and said if they
were going to do that anyway I would like to have the
interior done and have a new paint job. One thing logically,
it seemed at the time, led to another and before you could
say Donald Healey you designed great cares
we were into a major restoration.
I can personally testify that it is as much about the
journey as it is about arriving at the destination, or
in this case actually getting ones hands on the car. Along
the way I have met some truly great strangers who have
now become friends and we have had some spirited conversations.
This happens when you have a professional 30 year veteran
who has forgotten more than most people will ever know
about car restoration and in particular Healeys, that
would be Roger, and an enthusiastic amateur who knows
just enough to make him dangerous, that would be me, debating
about what to do with the emotional subject of my
car.
Roger is always patient and good natured, not to be confused
with soft or indecisive He is always available to discuss
options and brainstorm new ideas and approaches to big
and small challenges. He helped make the total experience
rewarding and satisfying. Harwood Enterprises are clearly
in the car business and are very successful at it, but
they are also clearly in the business of measuring their
success by the satisfaction of their customers and not
just the companys bottom line.
To any reader who is contemplating the journey of taking
that leap of faith and buying a car, only seen on the
Internet through pictures, I can say with total honesty
and commitment, go ahead, but just make sure you are dealing
with Harwood Enterprises.
Happy driving from one very happy Healey owner."
